After some time away, it’s time to return with a bang, and celebrate some of the worst villains from the Disney universe. There are so many baddies out there, this list cannot be kept to just ten.
Before we begin, the necessary disclaimers from Team Legal: All in fun, not for scientific purposes. The Disney universe is not just animated, and as we all know, ever growing. Finally, if you disagree, please comment below and tell me why. I’d love interactions on something like this. Everyone ready? Let’s begin:
13. Hans (Frozen)
Someday he’ll be higher on the list, but with the over saturation of Frozen, he’s pushed down for now. Still, his act of villainy is the greatest Disney plot twist to date.
12. Judge Doom (Who Framed Roger Rabbit)
As the late Bob Hoskins said, “That lame-brain freeway idea could only be cooked up by a toon.” Add in the Dip, and Christopher Lloyd shows us his wicked side.
11. Darth Vader (Star Wars)
My blog, my rules. If only the force choke was a thing.
10. Frollo (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Let’s see: Kill a mother, lock her son in a bell tower, lust after a woman. Evil, evil, nothing wrong with that. Wait…
9. Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog)
Actually, one of the most underrated villains in the Disney Universe, and with one of the best villain songs to boot.
8. The Gogans (Pete’s Dragon)
This bill of sale right here says you’re some bad people, Gogans.
7. Ratigan (The Great Mouse Detective)
A “lost” Disney classic; any villain that has Vincent Price as a voice gets bonus points.
6. Cats are EVIL (various)
One killed his brother, framed his nephew for it; one sent his brother on the Crusades and overtaxed his royal subjects, two double teamed Lady to get some milk. Pure evil, I say!
5. Hades (Hercules) & Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians) TIE
One is the Dark Prince, the other shares his name. Too close to call.
4. Sid/Al/Lotso (Toy Story 1, 2 and 3)
All three need to go into time out until they can learn to play nice with others.
3. Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)
Once you get past the male chauvinistic part, I’d meet up for a beer with him.
2. Evil Queen (Snow White) & Lady Tremaine (Cinderella) TIE
Giving Stepmothers a bad name since 1937.
1. Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty)
Only an evil person could wait sixteen years to extract revenge for not being invited to a party. Plus she has a raven for a pet, how wicked is that?
