Quest for the Vault Disney

Thank you, Netflix

Not a long posting this time around, but I wanted to take a moment to appreciate Netflix for its steaming of several volumes of the Disney Silly Symphonies along some of the obscure, lesser known/released Disney titles such as Great Mouse Detective and The Reluctant Dragon.

As I have said from the beginning, my goal is a creation of a “Vault Disney Channel”, a la Turner Classic Movies, playing Classic Disney 24/7, from movies, animated and live action, to The Wonderful World of Disney, to the Disney Channel “premium channel” era and The Disney Afternoon.  As also noted, I have started writing for Open Vault Disney, which is focused on the DVD and Blu-Ray release of these same genres.

While streaming Netflix is not quite either of these scenarios, at least there is an outlet that makes some of these titles available.  It was such a thrill tonight watch Three Little Pigs and Lambert the Sheepish Lion with my little girls tonight because these were available on Netflix to stream via Disney Animation Volume 2.  I cannot wait to get home from work tomorrow night to be able to stream The Reluctant Dragon, which has been beyond years since I have last seen it, on The Disney Channel.

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Netflix.

I thank you for taking the time to read this today.
